Library Instruction
We are happy to provide library instruction for your students!- Our most requested service is for an 80 minute session with a librarian in our library classroom. The classroom includes 30 laptops for your students to get hands-on practice with research. A good time for these sessions is in advance of an assignment, when we can tailor our instruction to meet the information needs of the students' assignment.
- Don't have time to spend a class period in the library? Set up a time with us for a shorter session, either in the library classroom or in your own classroom. We can provide a quick overview of library research, a how-to for a particular database (or group of databases), and/or an explanation of the importance of finding credible sources of information for research.
- We also provide Research Guides for many classes. (See more information below.)
Research Guides
Our online Research Guides are a great resource for your students! We already have guides for many TCC classes, but we are happy to make one tailored to your class. These guides can provide an overview of library research and highlight the best sources of information for your assignments. They can also include information on bibliographies and citations, plagiarism, and evaluating information for credibility, relevance/reliability, authority, and point of view.
The TCC Research Guides are found at http://libguides.tccd.edu.
To request a Research Guide for your class, contact the South Campus Jenkins Garrett Library at (817) 515-4524.
