The African American Read-In is February 9, 2023, from
12:30-2:00p. Event will held in the Jenkins Garrett Library, Drake Study
Break Café, room 1105C.
From 12:30-1:30p guess speaker Brenda Sanders-Wise's from the Tarrant County Black Historical and Genealogical Society. Her presentation will focus on/address the following: What is "Black Resistance"? What does Black Resistance look like in Tarrant County? Presentation will provide examples of positive aspects/ways to overcome challenges and limitations-highlighting specific examples of Black Resistance in Tarrant County. Presentation Time: 30–45-minute presentation and Q&A. Immediately following her presentation, we will have Open Mic Read-In: 1:30-2:00p. This is an opportunity for students to read/recite literature that highlights Black Resistance.
